Elyse is ONE! I can’t even believe it. I’ve been able to photograph this sweet family not just once or twice, but SIX times!! I truly love growing with my wedding couples as they start welcoming their babies! And here we are, this beautiful girl’s First Birthday (insert crying emoji here).
And let me tell you this: we never know what kind of weather we’re going to get for outdoor sessions in June in the Pacific Northwest. Justin and Virginia booked her photo session date with me months in advance, so then is was just a waiting game. I’m always overjoyed to have dry, clear days in June, and this session was literally the hottest day in Oregon’s recent 80 year history. Insane! We even bumped up the session to early morning and it was still almost 100 degrees when we were done! Nuts I tell you!
This girly though, was a trooper! She was so interested in her cake and exploring the environment, I don’t think she even cared about the heat! (YAY!!)
The initial reactions during cake smashes are just the best! I’m pretty sure Elyse wasn’t sure if it was the rose or the frosting ON the rose that tasted so yummy, but either way she was DEFINITELY getting more!
During all milestone sessions…
…even during cake smash sessions, I still always love to spend time capturing beautiful portrait images, the ones you will want to frame, sans the frosting and all.
