Thinking about having your newborn photos at home? I’m a Portland Newborn Photographer, let me help you think it through: Just do it.
But that isn’t what I want to share with you today. What I want to share with you is this: Newborn Sessions are actually for the full family. Not just of the newborn.

Whether you’ve just brought home your first baby or fifth, everyone is impacted by the newest addition to the family. Mom, dad, and siblings. Parents of 2+ babies, I can sense you nodding in agreement! In a family, everyone moves through life together, and the change is felt by everyone.
That’s one reason I love in-home newborn sessions as your Portland Newborn Photographer. They’re the perfect backdrop to capture a snapshot of your family–the new version of your family–exactly as they are, everyone included.

My newborn sessions are for the whole family.
Parents, siblings, and new baby.
I remember the first photo I had of my two children together. It was a poorly lit, very unaesthetic, low quality cell phone snapshot.
And my heart swelled. Scratch that. My heart still swells whenever I come across it. My whole world together in one little 2×3″ inch rectangle.

Siblings are a beautiful gift. A natural relationship. Including all siblings in the Portland Newborn Photographer session is absolutely essential in my opinion. Don’t schedule the session during big sibling’s nap time to make it easier. Don’t have big kids stay with grandma to reduce chaos. You’ll never regret having your babies together for pictures.

PS – if you want a newborn session at home but also love a classic newborn photo aesthetic, grab a white quilted bedspread like this for your new baby’s solo portraits!
That’s all for now, stay tuned for more in-home family sessions coming soon!
