There’s something special about newborn sessions that take place in your own home. Not only are they crazy convenient: forgot something? Toddler needs a snack? Wardrobe comes to you?? They’re special because each one is unique, and you’re in your very own, personal, comfortable space. It’s the space that you’ve designed to your personality, and your comfort. Plus no having to rush out the door with a newborn!

Who is best suited for in-home session?

Anyone can always opt for an in-home session, but I especially recommend them when you have older children. Toddlers and older children are much more likely to act themselves and give genuine expressions when they’re in the comfort of their own home, than in a completely new place. I loved working with the Hertel Family as they welcomed their new baby into their family. I’ve known this beautiful mama for many years and different seasons of life. Motherhood is my favorite one yet! From using our corporate job lunch breaks to squeeze in walks and chat about work, life, and dreams before kids, to chatting about the realities of motherhood and how our two children are growing and soaking in the baby snuggles because we know how quickly they turn into toddlers! I’m so thankful that they’ve chosen me to be their Portland Newborn Photographer! It really is the sweetest reason to get to catch up and visit with longtime friends!
