Step One: Inquire
Let's chat! We'll hop on a phone call so that you know what to expect from start to finish. I want to get to know you, you to me, and you'll get every detail of my process and pricing. In home photography is very personal and it's important that we're on the same page from the get-go!
Here's How It Works:
Step Two: Booking and Planning
Once you've decided to move forward with booking, you'll receive my detailed and thought-provoking questionnaire. Using that as a starting point, we'll plan a session that makes sense for your unique family on a Planning phone call.
Here's How It Works:
Step Three: Session
The fun part! We've planned and prepared so that the day of your session is a breeze! You know what to expect and you can sit back and enjoy making memories with your family and know that I have the rest handled!
Here's How It Works:
Step Four: Gallery Delivery & Art Selection
You'll receive your photos 3-4 weeks after our session. If you've opted to only purchase digital files, that is it (until next time)! If you are looking to purchase an album or other artwork, we'll have another call to review photos and finalize ordering your custom heirloom art!
Here's How It Works:
If you've been a parent for more than a few minutes, you probably know just as well as me that our children are always changing and growing. Time is non-renewable. We are always getting to know new versions of our kids as we simultaneously say goodbye to the current versions we know and love so very much.
The real question is: How do we document this season so that we can always have something to look back to? I've been a mom for just 10 years, and when I look back at photography sessions from my younger years of motherhood--while I cherish any and all old photos of my kids--sometimes I wonder, "What was I thinking? This is not who we were? And why were we always standing in flower fields??" I can only imagine the questions I will have after 30 years!
That's why I do what I do. I photograph families at home. I need photographs to represent the realness of my family. I need help remembering the small details. The vanishing moments that were so normal in one phase, they might slip out of my memory in the next season. It's so important to me that I want that for you, too.
As a mom of *soon to be three*, ages 9 and under, I promise that I feel every word I preach about fleeting time and preserving everyday moments. Motherhood has taught me all about the ups and downs of life.
I like beautiful things and being in nature just as much as the next person, but what sets my heart on fire, is seeing the beauty of relationships. Families working and loving together. Mothering through the good and the hard days. Parents studying their kids' personalities to understand and guide them the best way possible.
Because I want to see your REAL family during our time together, I take a very relaxed approach to my photo sessions. I give enough guidance to help you feel comfortable and connected, and leave enough space to let your family be themselves while the chaos unfolds!
I create my best art for families when parents and kids are both relaxed and enjoying the time playing and making memories together! No watching and demanding "cheese", please!

Q: What if my toddler doesn't cooperate for photos?
Q: What if my house doesn't get great natural light?
Q: What time of day will our session be?
Q: How far in advance do I need to schedule our session?
Q: How do I get my home ready for photos?
A: Toddlers do so much better in home sessions! I provide plenty of prep to help your toddler shows us their personality!
A: We'll plan ahead to figure out what rooms of your home do get the best light, and because we live in cloudy Portland, I'll supplement with artificial light as needed.
A: You'll know going into the session what room we'll be using. Clear the clutter but you can leave evidence of real life, too!
A: Most sessions take place Tuesdays or Thursday mornings around 10am. I only shoot 1-2 Saturday mornings per month, which book out very far in advance!
A: You can never book a session too early, but you can be too late. We need at least 4 weeks to plan your session once you decide to move forward with booking and scheduling.
