never made more sense

Preserving the once-in-a-lifetime moments of our baby's first hours in our arms

Step One: Inquire

Let's chat! We'll hop on a phone call so that you know what to expect from start to finish. I want to get to know you, you to me, and you'll get every detail of my process and pricing. In home photography is very personal and it's important that we're on the same page from the get-go!

Step Four: Gallery Delivery & Art Selection

You'll receive your photos 3-4 weeks after our session. If you've opted to only purchase digital files, that is it (until next time)! If you are looking to purchase an album or other artwork, we'll have another call to review photos and finalize ordering your custom heirloom art!

Portland Family Photography Experience

The day my firstborn arrived was a traumatic day. I'd been in premature, medically slowed labor for three full days, and as soon as he arrived, he was whisked away to the NICU. No skin-to-skin, no breastfeeding, and none of that incredible co-regulation that should happen between mother and child immediately following birth. That experience was anything but ideal.

When my second (and full term) baby arrived, she was placed in my arms right away. She nursed. We snuggled all day and all night. It was pure bliss and the most healing, beautiful experience.

No matter how your birth goes, whether perfectly according to plan or traumatic, the first hours and days of meeting your baby are absolutely priceless. There are no photos more valuable to me than the first ones first taken of my children.

Let's make sure we get this incredibly special time documented for you, beautifully, and by someone who truly understands.

Learn More

As a mom of *soon to be three*, ages 9 and under, I promise that I feel every word I preach about fleeting time and preserving everyday moments. Motherhood has taught me all about the ups and downs of life.

When my son was born premature and then struggled with colic, allergies, and required lots of therapies his first years of life, I learned the hard way that motherhood was going to challenge me. But oh, the joy and beauty that comes from it!

Many of my clients have told me that I am a calming presence for them in their hospital session. I am very well versed in working quickly and around hospital staff (I am certified to enter and photograph the NICU babies at Providence St. Vincent's in Portland Oregon on a monthly basis!), am patient and calm, and give mom's space to do their thing while reassuring them that they look absolutely gorgeous in their new roll.

There's nothing more beautiful and joyous to me than a mom and her brand new baby!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if my toddler doesn't cooperate for photos?

Q: What if my hospital room doesn't get great natural light?

Q: What time of day will our session be?

Q: How far in advance do I need to schedule our session?

Q: What happens if you can't make it or something totally changes plans?

A: Toddlers can be very unpredictable in hospitals meeting a sibling for the first time. Most families I work with choose to leave big sibling at home for this part and include them in their family/newborn photos at home!

A: Not many rooms in Portland hospitals have ideal natural light! I'm well versed in using natural and artificial light and will come over-prepared for your hospital sesssion!

A: Because birth can be so unpredictable, I have a very lenient refund policy for Hospital Sessions. If your baby is born while I'm traveling or something goes awry, we'll discuss and figure out the best way to proceed!

A: I leave room for a ton of flexibility for Hospital Sessions. Generally these take place in the afternoons because that is when mom is feeling more ready for the day!

A: I have very limited availability for hospital sessions because they are scheduled last minute. The sooner you book with me, the better!
